Small Groups (Sunday School)

At the heart of the Christian experience is the need for a personal connection with other believers. At East Brainerd Baptist we believe that this connection is best achieved in a small group setting with people of like interests, or at the same place in life. That is why we have groups in the following categories that meet each Sunday at 9:45 prior to our corporate worship service. We are sure that if you join us one Sunday you will find the group that ‘fits’ you just right.

Preschool (newborn – 3 yr)

We have excellent facilities for our young ones and loving teachers/care givers. You will find our nursery facilities clean, bright, and ready for eager and enthusiastic babies and toddlers. Our loving workers will care for your child while you are able to focus on a time of Bible study and relationship building with others at your same place in life.

Children (3 yr – 5th grade)

In our children’s department we provide a fun time for the kids as well as a structured learning time for hearing stories from God’s word. The focus of our children’s small groups is to help you, as a parent, to raise your child “in the fear and admonition of the Lord”, and to bring them to a point where they can make a decision to follow Christ in salvation. Small group time for our children is an exciting time of learning and growing.

Youth (6th grade – 12th grade)

Our youth use a more modern curriculum that utilizes print and multimedia. Their experience is more ‘unstructured’ with discussion and discovery. The focus of youth small groups is to build relationships and provide accountability and spiritual growth.

Young Married (As young as you feel – younger children)

When you attend our young married small group you will find newly married couples as well as couples who have young children. The common element in this group is that they are sharing the same life experiences and are able to understand and support each other. This group is focused on growing in their marriages as well as helping and encouraging each other with the decisions of life. We would welcome anyone who needs support and wants to be a part of and encouraging group of believers.

Adults (Measured by age, not maturity)

Our adult small groups are filled with people who are wanting to grow in their Christian experience and find support in the community of others who are on the same journey. You will find groups of warm and accepting people who will make you instantly feel like and old friend. These groups study and discuss God’s Word and how it applies to their lives in the real world. The goal is a continuous growth in order to be more like Christ, so others can see His love and mercy lived out in their lives.

Senior Adults (Our more “experienced ” adults)

Our senior adults are some of the most ‘fun loving’ folks in our church. Their small groups provide support and companionship as well as a forum for learning and growing. At East Brainerd Baptist we don’t believe in ‘retirement’ and this is obvious when you attend one of our senior adult small groups. The study is designed to provide a continuous spiritual growth and life equipping truth. Our seniors have learned to lean on each other and lean Jesus. We are sure that if you are a senior adult you will love being involved in one of our senior small groups!
